About the role

The Senior Grants and Procurement Officer provides specialist advice, coordination and support across government grant programs and procurement activities. This role is central to the development and delivery of funding programs and procurement relating to waste and resource recovery initiatives, ensuring stakeholders can engage efficiently and effectively with these programs.

  • Lead and support grant programs throughout their full lifecycle.
  • Conduct compliance, risk and quality reviews of grant management processes using data, feedback and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to ensure correct use of grant management and record-keeping systems.
  • Provide technical advice on grants and procurement issues, liaising with the central procurement team and advising stakeholders on appropriate funding and procurement structures.
Our ideal candidate has
  • Significant expertise in contemporary grant management practices and software (e.g., SmartyGrants), and/or related fields such as procurement, contract, or client management.
  • High-level liaison, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to non-specialists.
  • Advanced conceptual and analytical skills, with initiative, flexibility, and creativity in developing solutions and improving service delivery.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
We offer
  • Work in a role that combines policy, program delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Enjoy a supportive workplace with opportunities for professional growth and flexible working arrangements.
  • Work with purpose - contribute to high-priority government programs that support waste reduction and resource recovery.
