Mental Health Practitioner – Youth Focused
📍 Sydney CBD (Relocation to NT with support provided)

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join a youth mental health service supporting young people (12–25 years), with a strong focus on working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

What’s on offer:

$50–$60 per hour + super

Relocation assistance to NT

Car provided & accommodation subsidy

Approx. 3–4 month contract (with potential to extend)

Option to work through the Christmas period or take leave and return

Full-time, 38 hrs/week (Mon–Fri, generally 9am–5pm; one late start/finish day)

About the role:
You will provide youth-friendly, family-inclusive, and culturally safe care to young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. This includes:

Conducting assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions

Facilitating warm referrals to internal and external services

Supporting intake processes, group programs, and community awareness sessions

Collaborating with Social & Emotional Wellbeing Workers

Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to quality improvement

About you:

Tertiary qualification in a mental health-related discipline (e.g., Mental Health Nurse, OT, Social Worker, Psychologist, Counsellor, Aboriginal Health Practitioner)

Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional body

Experience working with young people in mental health or youth services

Understanding of co-morbidities, youth development, and best practice interventions

Commitment to respectful and culturally appropriate practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
