Equal Assurance Pty Ltd is a long-established, WA-based, family-owned Certifying Assurance Body (CAB). Due to growth in our global operations, an exciting opportunity has arisen in our business management team! We’re looking for a full-time business development manager with a combination of technical expertise, business acumen and interpersonal skills to connect with audiences, build relationships, and achieve business objectives. This entry-level job is an opportunity to utilise your business development skills as well as offering career advancement potential in management within the organisation.
The primary responsibility is to drive business growth and increase sales and marketing activity through identifying new opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and implementing strategies to expand the company and our global network. This role involves market research, creating and implementing business plans, development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies and collaborating with internal teams to achieve business goals. The successful candidate will also need to have a high level of business acumen (a good understanding of business financials, profit and loss and return on investment). Experience with international markets, including North America, UK, and Europe, to support our expansion plans is also necessary. This experience together with a multi-cultural background will also be advantageous in supporting our small businesses in growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Negotiating Deals:
Plan, negotiate and coordinate contracts and agreements with new and existing clients and businesses, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
Identifying Growth Opportunities:
Analyse market trends, identify potential clients and businesses, research new markets to expand the company's reach and identify strategies to generate leads, as well as analysing competitors, and staying abreast of industry trends.
Building Relationships:
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, practice owners, global partners, and industry influencers.
Developing Business Plans:
Create, direct and implement business plans to support growth initiatives, including business growth projections, marketing strategies, and revenue forecasting.
Collaborating with Internal Teams:
Work closely with the EA Leadership Team and the Business Manager and other teams to implement business development strategies and sales and marketing activities.
Implementation:
Ensure the successful implementation of business strategies, projects and initiatives.
Providing Strategic Input:
Offer strategic input and expertise on business development matters to support organizational goals.

Need to demonstrate:
Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in business, sales, marketing, or a related discipline
At least 2 years’ work experience in a business, sales, marketing, or related role, preferably in international business
Ability to achieve market sales
Ability to market an organisation, not just a product or service
Business acumen –
- ability to grasp the "why" behind business decisions and understand the bigger picture;
- understanding of financial statements (e.g. P&L), key performance indicators (KPIs), and how financial decisions impact the business; and
- ability to understand the market, competitors, and customer needs
Desirable:
Some background in or understanding of assurance / certification
What the Position offers:
Full time employment (5 days per week)
Salary of $77K – $85K per annum
Opportunity to work from home (but must be Perth metro resident)
