About the Business

Our Youth Justice and Inclusion Support team is responsible for tertiary elements of the youth justice system, including custodial and community-based supervision and support. Through program and service development and delivery, they help children and young people with their rehabilitation and to reconnect with their family and culture.

Role Details

The Clinical Manager, YOP, is a role within Community and Aboriginal Partnerships and is accountable to the Principal Psychologist for:

Providing expert leadership and support in the assessment, referral and discharge planning for young people who have been included in the YOP.

Overseeing clinical operations and applying specialised clinical expertise to the delivery of the YOP, whilst ensuring quality assurance by reviewing and guiding evidence-based assessment and intervention practices.

Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists and occupational therapists, to ensure the application of specialist, scientifically based clinical assessments and intervention recommendations for young people requiring referral to the NDIS.

Managing complex cases and providing high level advice to support young people with complex mental health, developmental and behavioural needs, drawing on expertise and contemporary knowledge of best practice evidence and trends.

Special Conditions

National Police Check required.

Some out of hours work may be required.

Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.

Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).

Role Status: Term up to 24/09/2027.

Essential Qualifications:

A Masters’ level qualification in Clinical, Forensic or other Applied Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia to practice as a psychologist as well as Psychology Board of Australia status as a Board Approved Supervisor; or

Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia; or

Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or

Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OBTA) and must hold and maintain registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
