ABOUT US:
Australian Veteran Health Services (AVHS) is a unique, multi-disciplinary medical service supporting former and current Defence personnel as they transition to civilian life. Established by Veterans for Veterans, we work collaboratively with established medical and ex-service organisations to provide DVA claims support, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports, and ADF Transition Medicals.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our services we are looking for a Clinical Manager for our Daw Park Clinic. Whilst carrying a reduced clinical load, you will oversee the day-to-day operations while contributing to strategy, growth, and clinical excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role, growing the business and a team of practice nurses and receptionists. You will drive operational efficiency, compliance, and best-practice healthcare delivery.
ABOUT YOU:
You are a highly experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a background in practice nursing, team leadership, and clinic management. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you build trusting relationships and can navigate multiple stakeholders with confidence. You have a passion for supporting veterans and a keen eye for clinical governance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Lead and manage daily clinic operations, ensuring seamless patient care and service delivery
✅ Foster a positive, team-oriented culture aligned with AVHS values and Code of Conduct
✅ Ensure compliance with accreditation, Medicare, DVA billing, and PRODA requirements
✅ Maintain, develop and implement clinical best-practice processes
✅ Collaborate with senior leadership to drive clinic growth, performance and to enhance efficiency, patient experience, and quality outcomes.
✅ Participate in recruitment, onboarding and training of new nursing and reception staff
Selection Criteria
Bachelor of Nursing (Registered Nurse) with a minimum of 5 years’ management experience
Proven experience in clinic planning, workflow management, and meeting operational goals
Strong business analysis, assessment and reporting skills
Excellent team leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Advanced IT skills with ability to
Desirable:
Understanding of Medicare, DVA, and veteran healthcare systems
Understanding of military culture, transition challenges, and service-related mental health conditions.
