For over 70 years, Meals on Wheels Brisbane South has supported older Australians to live independently at home through nutritious meals and community connection. In 2021, 11 individual services united under one not-for-profit organisation, now covering a broad area from Victoria Point in the East to Centenary in the West.
We are currently seeking an Floating Administration Officer (Eastern Services) to join our passionate team. This vacancy has arisen due to internal promotion – a testament to our supportive and growth-oriented workplace.
About the Role
As a Floating Administration Officer, you'll provide flexible administrative support across multiple service sites. Working closely with staff, volunteers, and clients, you’ll step in to cover leave and provide general support where needed. Across our 11 services: Acacia Ridge, Bulimba, Carina, Centenary, Cleveland, Holland Park, Mt Gravatt, Sherwood, Sunnybank, Victoria Point, and Yeronga.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting client intake and coordinating daily meal deliveries
Communicating with clients, volunteers, and team members
Assisting with administrative and financial tasks, such as invoicing and payment reconciliation
Due to the nature of this floating role, regular travel within the Brisbane South region is required. Access to a reliable vehicle is essential.
Position Details
Part-time: Minimum 20 hours per week across 4 days (Start times between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM depending on site)
Flexibility to work a 5th day or additional hours when required (by agreement)
Hourly rate: $33.53 + 17.5% leave loading

What You'll Bring
Formal qualifications in office administration or at least 2 years’ relevant experience
A proactive, flexible, and self-motivated approach
Ability to build rapport with clients, volunteers, and team members from diverse backgrounds
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High proficiency with Microsoft 365 and strong attention to detail
Capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently
Willingness and ability to travel to all 11 service sites (ideally you reside near one of our Eastern sites: Bulimba, Carina, Cleveland, Holland Park, Mt Gravatt, or Victoria Point)
Desirable Experience
Prior experience in the community services sector
Experience working with volunteers
Proficiency with client management systems and data entry
Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain)
NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
Current First Aid Certificate
Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (travel allowance provided)
