Steve Watson & Partners is a well-recognised and professional building code consulting and approvals service, established in 2003. We have a highly qualified team with extensive experience in all types of construction projects for Approvals, Consultancy, and Essential Services work. With over 60 staff members across four offices, we have accreditation in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and the ACT. Our key strengths include expertise in all aspects of BCA compliance, rigorous QA procedures, and a reputation for integrity among relevant stakeholders. We are well known for meeting the highest levels of client expectations while minimising the risk of design or construction errors by application of our rigorous QA processes.

About the Roles

We have a number of roles for Building Certifiers / Regulations Consultants available in our Sydney office. The roles involve auditing concept and detail designs, to ensure BCA compliance, managing approvals processes, undertaking construction phase inspections and defects management, and consulting with clients and authorities. The consultant will work closely with project teams to reduce risks and add value to key project decisions through their expertise. You’ll work on a variety of Class 2–9 buildings, from small fit outs to large scale developments.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in auditing concept and detail designs for BCA compliance and managing construction and defect inspections

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project teams

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment

Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Post graduate qualifications would be well regarded.

Highly motivated and professional attitude with a commitment to integrity and excellence

Registration as a certifer in NSW would be well regarded.

Salary range between $120k-$180k based on experience
