About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Events, Functions & Customer Engagement Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the Darwin Sailing Club. This casual position will play a key role in coordinating and delivering exceptional events and functions, as well as providing outstanding customer service to our members and guests. Based in our Fannie Bay location, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of an iconic Darwin institution.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Coordination: Organise and execute events from planning to completion, ensuring smooth operation and client satisfaction.

Reservations: Set up and manage reservations for events and daily bookings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Customer Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for customers and businesses, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships.

Communication: Handle incoming phone calls and emails professionally, providing clear, helpful, and timely responses.

Social Media Management: Assist in creating and scheduling content across social media platforms, engaging with followers, and promoting upcoming events.

Business Engagement: Build relationships with local businesses and partners to support event success and expand our network.

Requirements & Skills:

Proven experience in event coordination, hospitality, and or customer service

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Confident and professional when taking phone calls and writing emails

Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and basic content creation

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

Friendly, approachable, and able to maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using booking/reservation systems (now book it)

Knowledge of digital marketing or content tools (e.g. Canva.)

Previous experience working in events and hospitality
