Join Our Team as an Accountant & Payroll Specialist

Our dynamic media publishing group, based in Macquarie Park, is seeking a motivated and experienced Accountant to take ownership of key financial operations across our portfolio of companies.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in managing and streamlining our financial and payroll processes, including:

Payroll

End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll across the group

Reconciliation of wages, superannuation, commissions, and contractor payments

Compliance reporting: PAYG, STP, payroll tax, workers’ compensation, and superannuation lodgements

Budgeting for wages and commissions of the group

Supporting HR with payroll-related admin

Accounting & Reporting

Assist with preparation of management reports and annual budgets

BAS, IAS, FBT, and other statutory reporting

Royalty calculations and reconciliations for licensed and non-licensed products

Monthly reconciliation of subscriptions and digital sales

Major Customer payment reconciliations

Year-end financials and GL reconciliations

Oversight of AP, AR, and bank reconciliations of subscriptions and digital sales

Month-end reconciliation for subsidiary entities

Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners

Provide insights and support to senior management

What We are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

3–5 years’ experience in mid-level accounting, payroll, and admin roles

Strong communication skills—both written and verbal

Advanced spreadsheet and reconciliation skills

A proactive, problem-solving mindset

Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

High-level organisational skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (Attaché experience highly regarded)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in chartered accounting firms is an advantage

CPA, CA, or equivalent tertiary qualification

Background in commerce, business, or accounting
