The Role
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for a range of financial tasks to support the organisation’s end-of-year processes and audit preparation. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Update the 2025/26 budget in line with Board decisions and funding changes
• Prepare for the final audit, including completing and collating outstanding audit work papers
• Manage financial planning and reconciliations (trial balance, general ledger, balance sheet, journals, bank reconciliations, receivables, payables, provisions, and other assets/liabilities)
• Maintain and reconcile registers (fixed assets, lease liabilities, term deposits, etc.)
• Finalise financial statements across multiple housing programs
• Collate and submit required documentation for external auditors in Caseware
• Complete statutory returns (IAS, BAS, QLeave, superannuation, annual housing financial returns)
• Enter data into MYOB as needed
• Prepare financial papers for the Board and support the CEO with ad-hoc financial tasks

Your Profile

• Qualified accountant with experience in not-for-profit or community services sectors
• Strong understanding of audit preparation, financial reporting, and statutory compliance
• Proficient in MYOB and Caseware (highly desirable)
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage deadlines independently
