Overview

We are a plastering company based in Ipswich servicing Brisbane and surrounding areas, delivering top-tier finishes across renovations, new builds, and light commercial interiors. We also offer insulation, painting, and ceiling & partition (C&P) framing as part of our complete service model.

Our team is known for being fast, accurate, and professional — and we expect the same from our quoting. We’re now looking for an experienced estimator to help us maintain momentum, deliver tight margins, and support strong client relationships.

Position Overview

· Position Title: Estimator – Plastering & Interiors

· Reporting To: Director and Project Manager

· Liaise With: Builders, clients, trades team, and admin staff

· Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

· Location: Ipswich (Office with a country view!)

· Salary package: $100,000 – $130,000 (Negotiable based on experience)

Role Summary

You will lead the estimating process for plasterboard, insulation, painting, and C&P framing. This includes site visits, take-offs, pricing, documentation, and quote follow-up. Your work will directly support business growth and project profitability.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit accurate quotes within 1–3 business days

Conduct on-site assessments to confirm scope, measure, and record job details

Complete digital take-offs from plans using Groundplan or similar

Maintain up-to-date pricing templates and supplier rates

Ensure all quoted work aligns with target margins (35%–55%)

Follow up on all quotes to support strong conversion rates

Collaborate with builders and clients to clarify scope and expectations

Prepare job scopes and conduct clear handovers to Project Manager

Record all client and job data in AroFlo (or relevant software)

Track KPIs including win rate, turnaround time, and margin health

Manage variations, re-quotes, and urgent quote requests as needed

Split time effectively between site visits and office-based tasks

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

90% of quotes delivered within 1–3 business days

Quote win rate: 50–70% (small jobs); 30–50% (larger projects)

Maintain gross profit margins between 35% and 55%

All site notes and scope details documented on the same day

Follow-ups made within 48 hours after quote submission

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 3–5 years' experience in construction estimating

Strong knowledge of plasterboard, paint, insulation, and C&P framing

Highly accurate with measurements, costings, and margin control

Confident using Groundplan, AroFlo, Cubit, Buildxact or similar

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven ability to manage multiple quotes and meet deadlines

Preferably based in or near Ipswich
