The Role
We are looking for a Finance Officer to join a State Government organisation on a intial contract until mid-Jan with a potential to extend. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Lead, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounts payable and receivable functions.
Responsibilities
- Process creditor and customer invoices, prepare payment batches.
- Generate, issue, and manage invoices (including levy invoices), and monitor ageing reports for collections
- Complete bank reconciliations, support month-end close, and administer petty cash
- Liaise with staff, suppliers, and customers regarding payments, invoicing, and finance queries
About You
- Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or equivalent work experience (ideally Gov)
- Accounts experience (AP/AR) with strong attention to detail and bookkeeping skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Dynamics 365 desirable
