About the Role:

Masterhome Holdings Pty Ltd is a reputable construction company specialising in residential developments across Sydney. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role will involve both office-based design work and on-site project supervision, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of structural elements within our construction projects.

Conduct site inspections and preliminary surveys at residential construction sites to evaluate ground conditions, service connections, and construction readiness, confirming structural suitability prior to works commencing

Analyse and interpret architectural and construction drawings, working closely with the design team to assess structural feasibility, buildability, and compliance with relevant engineering standards

Prepare structural calculations and technical documentation for key components, including slabs, footings, beams, and retaining walls, ensuring adherence to applicable codes, load requirements, and safety margins, and using engineering software to assist with design and analysis.

Evaluate and recommend construction techniques and materials suited to project-specific conditions, factoring in soil characteristics, environmental considerations, load capacity, and cost-effectiveness.

Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to align activities with timelines and technical specifications.

Supervise and monitor on-site structural works, confirming that construction aligned with approved designs, workmanship met quality expectations, and technical issues were resolved efficiently.

Assess structural integrity during construction, identifying design or site-based challenges and implementing practical engineering solutions to address them.

Ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety requirements, incorporating erosion control, waste management, and hazard prevention measures into project execution

Maintain clear communication with clients, providing regular updates, addressing technical inquiries, and managing variations in scope of timelines.

Skills and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).

Proven experience in structural engineering, preferably within residential construction.

Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in structural design and analysis software.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to work across multiple projects, maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
