Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented and driven Junior Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design, development, and testing of electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and Development: Create, develop, and test electronic circuits, components, and systems for commercial use.
· PCB Layout and Design: Layout of printed circuit boards and optimisation for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
· Prototyping and Testing: Build prototypes and run tests to validate designs, ensuring performance meets specifications.
· Troubleshooting: Analyse and troubleshoot hardware-related issues in existing designs, providing effective solutions to enhance performance.
· Documentation: Prepare technical reports, datasheets, and design documentation to support production and future modifications.
· Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with R&D, software, and mechanical teams to integrate electronics into larger systems.
· Supplier Relations: Coordinate with PCB manufacturers, assembly houses and component distributors to meet deadlines.
· Field Trials: Taking part in technology field trials in Australia and overseas.
Key Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering (with an electronics major).
· 1-3 years of experience in electronics design and development.
· Strong proficiency in analog and digital circuit design.
· Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium).
· Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded systems.
· Excellent knowledge of signal integrity, power electronics, and RF systems.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Willing and able to travel within Australia and overseas for periods of 2-4 weeks at a time, and to participate in technology trials in remote locations.
Desirable:
· Experience with EMC/EMI compliance
· Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testing (DFT)
· Experience with Altium 365 for cloud-based library collaboration and BOM management
· Knowledge of FPGA programming.
· Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB) for circuit modelling and analysis.
