• Examining ingredients to ensure freshness and quality, focusing on locally sourced goods.

• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and kitchen equipment to ensure consistent results.

• Preparing and cooking menu items according to McKinlyEatery’s recipes.

• Seasoning and plating dishes with attention to presentation, adding sauces and garnishes.

• Storing food and ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities, rotating stock to minimise waste.

• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

• Assisting in planning daily or weekly specials and estimating food requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Cook or in a similar role.

• Certificate IV or higher certificate of Hospitality required

• Strong technical skills in food production, and quality present.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
