About Us

Costume Factory & Upstage Dancewear is Melbourne's go-to destination for Dancewear, fancy dress costumes, and transformations. From Halloween and Christmas to end-of-year concerts, we bring creativity and fun to every customer experience.

We're heading into our busiest season and are looking for energetic, creative, and customer-focused team members who can thrive both on the shop floor and behind the scenes.

The Role

This is a hybrid retail & creative role. You'll be assisting customers in-store while also helping us create engaging content online.

Your responsibilities will include:

Costume hire fittings, styling, and returns

Dancewear fittings (uniforms, shoes, pointe fittings – training provided)

Wig styling, SFX & stage makeup advice

General customer service, sales, stock handling, and merchandising

Assist in Creating content for Instagram, TikTok (A Bonus)

About You

We'd love to meet someone who:

Has strong customer service or retail experience

Minimum of 1+ years customer service or retail experience is required

Has a passion for creativity, pop culture, costumes, or dance

Bonus skills: wig styling or SFX makeup or knowledge of dancewear

Is reliable, flexible, and available weekdays & Saturdays

Must Be available during Peak Seasons:
-Halloween (20th-31st October)
-Back to Dance/School (Early Feb)
