Mars Recruitment is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to join a dynamic lending team within a well-established retail banking environment. This role is ideal for someone who can step straight into residential lending assessments, apply their expertise with confidence, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

During this 12-month fixed-term contract, you'll assess and analyse a wide range of residential loan applications, including complex self-employed cases. Using your Delegated Lending Authority (DLA), you'll make sound and timely decisions, balancing risk management with exceptional customer service. You'll also work closely with brokers, financial planners, and internal stakeholders, providing proactive communication and solutions where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and approve residential loan applications in line with policy and compliance standards

Apply strong judgement and decision-making under an established DLA

Analyse and interpret financial information for self-employed applicants

Communicate effectively with brokers, planners, and internal partners to resolve queries and progress applications

Maintain credit quality standards while managing workloads in a fast-paced environment

Essential experience:

2+ years in residential lending/credit analysis

Previous Delegated Lending Authority (minimum $750k preferred)

Strong experience assessing self-employed loan applications

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively to a team
