Environment & Waste Coordinator

The Shire of Collie is seeking a proactive and experienced Waste & Environmental Management Coordinator to lead waste and environmental initiatives that make a real difference.

Key responsibilities of the position will include:

Oversee waste services, recycling programs, audits, and compliance with environmental regulations.

Manage contracts and procurement for various waste streams.

Lead and support initiatives like river revitalisation.

Monitor project outcomes, manage contractors, and engage with community and stakeholders.

Supervise Waste Transfer Station staff, manage rosters and performance, foster a safe and collaborative team culture.

Support the Director of Operations with reports, budgets, and special projects.

Ensure all activities align with Shire policies and budgets.

To succeed in this role, you should ideally hold a tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Waste Management, or other related disciplines and or extensive work experience in a similar role. Proven leadership and communication skills, along with a strong commitment to community engagement and continuous improvement.

An attractive remuneration package up to $92,408 will be offered based on skills and experience, with a base cash salary of up to $76,855 plus allowances. Residing within the Shire of Collie will be highly regarded but is not essential, and a housing allowance will be offered for such.
