MatCam Holding Pty Ltd is the Oceania distributor for nested based cutting machines, including CNC routers, waterjets, CO2 lasers, fiber lasers, plasmas and knife cutting machines. We have a niche market and some mainstream (high profile) clients that depend on our machine's reliability. MatCam is looking for a full time BRAND SPECIFIC technician - initially to be trained to do annual services to a certain standard and support new machine installations - and progressing to service calls, repairs, break downs and eventually training.

Local, frequent interstate and occasional international travel, mostly to New Zealand but also other international destinations in the region.

There are a few musts:

You MUST have a valid driver's license, be prepared to travel frequently, with very little notice and be able to manage and adjust your travel arrangements and requirements accordingly.

You MUST be able to work independently and show a considerable acumen for self-supervision.

You MUST be presentable, easy to get on with and comfortable with people as you reflect the company in everything you do

You MUST be pc literate

Key responsibilities

Installation and configuration of CNC cutting machines at customers locations, ensuring compliance with WPHS and any other specified standards.

Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines to keep them in optimal operating condition.

Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, diagnosing mechanical, electrical and programming issues.

Update and modify CNC programs as needed to optimize performance.

Provide onsite operator training on optimal machine operation and basic trouble shooting.

Maintain accurate service logs and documentation for all service operations.

Communicate effectively with customers and ensure their needs are met to a high standard.

Work in collaboration with the technical support team and share knowledge when necessary (training).

Required skills and qualifications (Minimum 6 of the 9 listed below)

High school certificate or equivalent.

Minimum of 10 years' experience in operating, servicing and maintaining MatCam (MultiCam USA) CNC cutting machines.

Strong understanding of CNC programming as pertains to MatCam (MultiCam USA) CNC cutting machines.

Proficiency with mechanical, electrical and electronic systems used in MatCam (MultiCam USA) CNC cutting machines.

Experience with CAD/CAM software packages. Preference for EnRoute and Rhino 3D.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Excellent English communication skills and customer service skills.

Physical requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and tools.

Ability to stand, bend, kneel and crawl for extended periods.

Good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Be prepared to work in dirty, noisy industrial environments (PPE supplied) and get your hands dirty.

Sober habits and good basic hygiene.

Work environment:

The final successful candidate will be home based operating out of their service vehicle and expected to manage their schedule efficiently. This job requires working in industrial environments, which can include exposure to noise, dust, grease and varying temperatures. They must be comfortable with frequent travel, often at short notice and for days at a time.
