🙌 What You’ll Be Doing
As a Support Worker at The Neurodiverse Network, you’ll help empower neurodiverse clients to live authentically - supporting them to develop independence, enhance emotional regulation, build meaningful connections, and engage confidently in their communities. Your work will be guided by a neuroaffirming, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach, underpinned by your understanding of each client’s unique profile, preferences, and needs.
Core duties include:
Assist with daily living activities (e.g. light personal care, meal prep, light household duties)
Support routines and encourage independence through tailored strategies and tools
Foster social inclusion through community access, activities, and outings tailored to the client's interests and goals
Collaborate positively with families and other stakeholders
Understand and acknowledge each person’s sensory profile, communication preferences, and regulation needs
Consistently uphold the NDIS Code of Conduct and organisational values
Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation to ensure quality support, effective communication, and compliance with organisational and NDIS requirements
Additional duties may include:
Supporting or facilitating our social connection group programs (in areas that are of interest to you)
Implement therapy programs in the home that are developed and overseen by our psychologists and other allied health professionals
💡 What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for multiple people who:
Have demonstrated experience working with neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with Autism Level 2
Understand autism-related communication differences, sensory sensitivities, emotional regulation challenges, and masking
Have the ability adapt to individual needs and preferences
Are compassionate, reliable, and committed to inclusive, person-centred care
Have a high level of emotional intelligence, patience, and effective communication skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Holds (or is working towards) a certificate or higher in disability support, community services, or similar
✅ Must-Haves
Legal right to work in Australia
Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Own ABN
Unrestricted Driver’s Licence and own reliable car
Comprehensive car insurance that is insured for business use
