An opportunity has been created with one of Sydney's foremost schools for an exceptional Facilities/Maintenance professional. Based at the main Sydney campus in the Eastern Suburbs, with added responsibility over several satellite campuses, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management to your team. Your remit will be to ensure the facilities are organised, presented, developed and operated as would befit such a historic organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this is a hands-on, varied role leading and directing the in-house Maintenance Team and external contractors to deliver preventative and reactive maintenance and building capital works projects.

Your remit will include:

• Leading the Maintenance Team and managing external contractors to repair and maintain built assets and utility infrastructure in a safe, effective and affordable manner
• Preparing and managing the development and implementation of the Maintenance Strategy, systems and plans for the built environment
• Managing smaller scale building & construction projects
• Providing sound trade & building advice & expertise to assist the Team with day-to-day maintenance & repairs
• Assisting with set-up support for activities and events and ensuring compliance with WHS, risk, and sustainability standards

You will be:

• Trade qualified in building and have direct experience in hands-on maintenance.
• Experienced in leading a maintenance team or unqualified staff
• A proficient problem solver, communicator and leader who can inspire innovation and excellence throughout the team.
• Knowledgeable in building management systems, asset management practices and construction fundamentals
• Experienced managing large complex buildings including aquatic facilities
