This respected NSW Government department plays a key role in advancing wellness initiatives across the state and is currently managing several high-impact projects. They are seeking two experienced Project Managers to lead and coordinate projects, ensuring high-quality planning, tracking, and reporting to effectively implement approved initiatives and strategic priorities aligned with agency and government outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in managing community-focused initiatives and will be required to work in a hybrid capacity from the department’s head office in Mascot. This is a contract position, running through to 23 December 2025.

Please note: this is not an ICT project. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong background in policy and/or governance-related projects within the public sector.

Reporting into the Director in this Project Manager role, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Lead planning and delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with internal and external initiatives.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers, and progress reporting.
• Coordinate business system reviews and support improved processes and ways of working.
• Prepare reports, briefings and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Provide project updates, track actions, and support governance, monitoring and evaluation.
• Ensure project outcomes and community input inform policy, program delivery, and government reporting.
• Engage stakeholders to embed co-design principles, diverse voices and cultural safety.

You…
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following areas:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Project or Operations Manager role within government and/or social services.
• Strong project management skills with proven ability to deliver within NSW Government frameworks.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, including experience working with minority and diverse communities, will be beneficial.
• High-level communication skills, including report writing and brief preparation.
• Solid understanding of NSW Government governance, reporting and funding processes.
