You’ve probably discovered by now that you enjoy solving technical problems just as much as you enjoy helping a team do its best work. Maybe you’ve led a technical support or NOC team, or you’ve become the unofficial go-to person for escalations and process improvement. Either way, you know how to roll up your sleeves when needed, but what really drives you is seeing a team perform at a high level.
In this role, you’ll be leading two groups of support technicians – a Level 1 team who keep frontline tickets, health checks, and daily service operations on track, and a Level 2 team who handle the trickier escalations, root cause investigations, and high-severity incidents. You won’t just be sitting on the sidelines; you’ll step in when required, coach your leads, and make sure the team feels supported, organised, and clear on what good looks like.
The environment is technical, so being comfortable in Linux, knowing your way around the command line, and being able to troubleshoot configuration files will definitely help you connect with the work. Some of their systems involve security technologies like CCTV and access control – if you’ve worked with those before, great, but if not, don’t worry. What matters most here is your ability to manage processes, keep SLAs on track, and give the team the structure and leadership they need to succeed.
Day to day, you’ll be the one making sure rosters run smoothly, coverage is in place for early starts, late finishes, and holidays, and escalations are handled quickly and cleanly. You’ll be the calm, steady voice in the room when something breaks, and the one who pushes for better documentation, cleaner runbooks, and smarter ways of working so the same problems don’t keep coming back.
