The Opportunity
4 Year Contract
The Manager: Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy is responsible for providing visionary leadership to the Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy Team. This cross-disciplinary team is entrusted with the design and delivery of evidence-based teaching and learning services across CESA schools and the Catholic Education Office (CEO).
Charged with driving strategic improvement, the Manager ensures the provision of exceptional service to schools remains central to the team's work. Through innovative solutions and effective support, the Manager fosters continuous advancement for young people, monitors progress across schools, and delivers high-quality resources and professional development for school leaders and teachers. Expertise within the team includes Literacy, Numeracy, Assessment, High Impact Instruction, Gifted Education, Technologies, Differentiation, EALD, the Key Capabilities Continuum, Languages, and Learning Management Systems. This breadth of skill covers all years of schooling, from early years to SACE, and demands a comprehensive understanding of both the Australian Curriculum and SACE requirements.
In addition, the Manager:
Contributes to the delivery of CESA’s strategic plan, Towards 2027, with a focus on advancing performance in Learning and Teaching.
Utilises intellectual rigour, strategic influence, and informed analysis to actively participate in the School Quality and Performance Leadership Team.
Collaborates to ensure cohesion and effective service integration across the broader team.
Represents CESA at forums and working parties at local, state, and national levels relevant to learning and teaching initiatives.
Leads a portfolio of work aligned to strategic objectives for excellence in student learning outcomes, engaging in system-wide consultation and collaboration.
You will work in close collaboration and partnership with the Manager: Diversity and Inclusion, Allied Health Manager, and School Performance Leaders.
About You
We are looking for an individual who has:
Relevant post graduate tertiary degree qualifications – e.g. Master of Educational Leadership
Teaching qualifications and current teacher registration in South Australia
Successful senior educational leadership experience and the ability to exercise this leadership collaboratively with the SQP Section and schools.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Australian Curriculum, SACE, Assessment and evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning.
Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Technologies and Learning Management Systems.
High-level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan strategically, problem solve, prioritise, work to deadlines to achieve quality outcomes, give attention to detail and relate tasks/actions to a broader strategic improvement context
High-level written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills with a demonstrated capacity to cooperate and communicate effectively with people at all levels.
