The Opportunity
The Manager: Diversity and Inclusion reports to the Director: Excellence, Equity and Inclusion and is responsible for the leadership of the Diversity and Inclusion Team in the design and delivery of evidence-based, inclusive education services to CESA schools and the Catholic Education Office (CEO).
The Diversity and Inclusion Team has broad reach and responsibility for providing support for schools in achieving successful outcomes for students, relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic initiatives and priorities.
This includes Students with Disability Strategy; Aboriginal Education Strategy; Transition and Pathways Strategy. The Manager is responsible for services and targeted support for student engagement and wellbeing; behaviour; the CESA Scholarship Program; the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) funding; and oversight of the effective implementation of the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum.
In addition, the Manager develops and executes plans to:
Ensure outstanding service provision to schools is at the heart of the team’s efforts.
Ensure the successful implementation of the Students with Disability Strategy; Aboriginal Education Strategy; and Transition and Pathways Strategy.
Deliver innovative solutions and continuous improvement for young people.
Monitor and review progress of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives across schools.
Provide high-quality resources and professional development opportunities for school leaders and teachers, enabling them to meet the diverse needs of children and young people.
Advance data-informed practices in relation to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Support schools in adopting equitable, accessible, and inclusive practices.
Drive achievement of CESA key performance indicators related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Manager: Diversity and Inclusion works in close collaboration and partnership with the Manager: Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy, Allied Health Manager, and School Performance Leaders.
About You
We are looking for an individual who has:
Relevant post graduate tertiary degree qualifications – e.g. Master of Educational Leadership or Master of Special Education
Teaching qualifications and current teacher registration in South Australia
Successful senior educational leadership experience (preferably Catholic education) and the ability to exercise this leadership collaboratively with the SQP Section and schools.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the NCCD and the Disability Standards for Education.
High-level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan strategically, problem solve, prioritise, work to deadlines to achieve quality outcomes, give attention to detail and relate tasks/actions to a broader strategic improvement context
High-level written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills with a demonstrated capacity to cooperate and communicate effectively with people at all levels
