About Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service

Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service (Wurli) is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Katherine, Northern Territory. With a 40+ year legacy of delivering culturally safe, holistic care, Wurli serves Aboriginal communities across the region through specialised clinics focused on general health, chronic disease, women’s and men’s health.

Our strength is our team – passionate clinicians, educators, and community workers collaborating to deliver primary health-care that truly empowers. Wurli’s clinics are welcoming, community-driven spaces where nurses thrive professionally and personally, supported by dedicated peers and leadership.

Whether you're seeking purpose, a lifestyle reset, or a chance to practise with impact — Wurli offers a rare and rewarding opportunity.

About the Opportunity

Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is hiring full-time Registered Nurses (Level 2–3) to join its growing clinical teams in Katherine, NT.

Reporting to the Clinic / Program Coordinator, you’ll be based primarily at one of Wurli’s four clinics and provide high-quality nursing services in a primary health care setting. This is a generalist role — ideal for those seeking clinical breadth, community connection, and the freedom to grow.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Delivering direct nursing care and case management in a culturally appropriate manner

Conducting assessments, diagnosis, and treatment in line with CARPA protocols

Managing clinical records, care plans, and follow-ups via Communicare

Supporting doctors and allied health teams with coordinated care

Participating in outreach and voluntary after-hours programs

Maintaining safe clinical environments and upholding best practices

Assisting with emergencies and participating in CQI, peer review, and team learning

Occasionally supporting across other clinics during staff shortages

About You

To be eligible, you must hold a Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration (unconditional) as a Registered Nurse. 2 years of clinical experience is preferred. You’ll also need:

Valid Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card)

National Police Check

Driver’s Licence

Legal right to work in Australia (working holiday visas not accepted)

Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:

Experience working in Aboriginal or regional health settings

Familiarity with CARPA protocols

Knowledge of Communicare or equivalent systems

Interest in chronic disease care, health promotion or outreach

Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break!). You’ll thrive in a culturally diverse, team-based environment that prioritises both patient outcomes and staff wellbeing.

$94,000+ base salary (Level 2 RNs with <5 years’ experience)

$109,000+ base salary (Level 3 RNs with 5+ years’ experience)
