The Support Officer provides efficient and confidential administrative support to the Business Support Unit (BSU) and the regional office. The role is required to respond to enquiries from internal and external clients, undertake record management duties, provide support with financial and human resource management processing activities, and assist management with strategic and operational planning and implementation processes.
- Provide high quality, confidential administrative support to the BSU and the Regional office as required.
- Ensure that Regional electronic filing systems are operating effectively and provide advice on any business improvements that may ensure better system functionality.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that any information required is provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist the BSU in the coordination of business support activities and functions for the Region.
- Provide accurate and timely financial accounting services and advice, including accounts payable and receivable, debt management, ledger maintenance and corporate card monthly reconciliations.
- Research and prepare a range of correspondence and documentation, ensuring compliance with the departmental Style Guide.
- In consultation with the Business Support Officer and Regional Managers, schedule and plan meetings, forums and events and book and coordinate travel for regional staff in line with relevant QAS policies and procedures.
- Liaise with functional areas to ensure effective organisation of training programs and activities.
- Comply with departmental administrative and financial standards and timeframes and ensure all finance related activities are conducted in line with QAS policies and procedures including the Financial Management Practice Manual.
- Conduct quality checks on financial, human resource (HR) and clinical education administrative forms.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of documentation is managed appropriately.
- Adhere to QAS policies and procedures at all times and escalate any identified issues to the relevant manager.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.
