Role — responsibilities

Install, align and commission swing gates, sliding gates and boom gates (mechanical assembly, concreting footings, post setting, rail work).

Mount and secure motors, gearboxes, racks, hinges, tracks and barriers.

Route cable conduits and install actuators, limit switches and sensors (mechanical/low-voltage cable pulling — final electrical connections to be done by licensed electrician or with restricted electrical permit).

Fabrication and minor metalwork/adjustments on site (cutting, welding, grinding as needed).

Test mechanical operation, safety devices (sensors/loops), and perform adjustments.

Deliver customer handover, basic user training, and complete job documentation.

Maintain tools, company vehicle (if provided) and report materials/consumables used.

Skills & attributes (must / nice-to-have)

Must:

Mechanically minded, competent with hand and power tools, ability to read basic mechanical drawings/diagrams.

Experience installing gates, fences, booms or similar mechanical access equipment (or strong general fabrication / site assembly experience).

Comfortable working on ladders, in pits and outdoors; physically fit.

Valid WA driver’s licence, right to work in Australia, able to pass police check for certain contracts.

Nice to have:

Experience with gate motors (Ditec, FAAC, BFT, Nice etc.), access control basics, loop detectors, photo-eyes.

MIG/TIG welding and basic electrical wiring experience.

Restricted electrical licence (CET017 or equivalent) — see notes below
