About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our national franchise network. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leadership role is instrumental in overseeing both internal team operations and external franchisee performance, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic vision, operational standards, and compliance obligations.
As a franchise-driven business, the ideal candidate will bring deep experience in franchise management, business operations, and financial compliance—especially within the consumer leasing or financial services sector. The successful candidate will be a proven leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and champion a performance-driven and values-led culture across the organisation.
Key Objectives
Lead the growth, performance and operational efficiency of a national franchise network.
Strengthen systems, processes and communication across head office and franchisees.
Ensure operational compliance with regulatory frameworks, especially NCCP and consumer lease obligations.
Drive franchisee success through leadership, support, coaching, and strategic guidance.
Cultivate a unified brand experience and operational consistency across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Franchise Network Oversight
Provide leadership, accountability and support to all franchisees to ensure business performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Oversee franchisee onboarding, training and development processes.
Monitor franchise compliance with operational guidelines, lease documentation, and brand standards.
Act as primary escalation point for franchisee issues, disputes, or strategic decisions.
Operations & Strategy
Manage and continuously improve core business operations, internal systems and workflows.
Drive execution of the company’s strategic plan, including growth targets and key initiatives.
Lead cross-functional collaboration across finance, marketing, compliance, and HR functions.
Implement, monitor and refine KPIs to track performance across all business units and franchises.
Financial Management
Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting across head office and franchisees.
Analyse financial data to ensure financial targets are met and highlight opportunities for improved profitability.
Support franchisees in pricing, procurement, and margin optimisation strategies.
Team Leadership & Culture
Provide leadership to internal teams, contractors and franchise partners.
Build a high-performing, values-aligned culture of accountability, service and execution.
Recruit, onboard, and manage key head office personnel and/or support staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven success in a senior management or general management role, ideally within a franchise, leasing or multi-site retail environment.
Strong understanding of franchise operational procedures, franchisee relationship management, and network development.
Deep familiarity with the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, consumer lease regulations, and compliance obligations.
Strong financial acumen including budgeting, P&L management, and operational reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident in influencing franchisees, staff, and external stakeholders.
Highly organised, strategic thinker with strong decision-making and time management abilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams remotely and manage a distributed network.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field.
Experience in the consumer leasing, retail finance, or franchise development sectors.
Working knowledge of HR processes, performance management, and training systems.
Marketing and brand management experience, particularly in a franchise context.
