Temporary Financial Accountant role

Not-for-profit environment experiencing major growth and expecting more in the future

Parramatta (work from home 2 days) – paying $55 - $67 per hour + super

The Company

The Role

This Financial Accountant position will be heavily involved in the revenue side. Your responsibilities will include:

Month-end tasks/processes: preparation and accountability of the revenue balance sheet accounts, including a monthly reconciliation.

Accrued Income Receivable, Deferred Revenue and Unearned Income balance sheet accounts.

Month-end journals, intercompany invoices and GL reconciliations.

Oversee the revenue transactions and revenue compliance.

Report on the revenue transactions to management.

Understating of contracts to apply revenue recognition accordingly.

Intercompany revenue recharges and reconciliations.

Maintain aged receivables register, prepare bank reconciliations and track.

Interpret funding contracts to ensure correct revenue recognition (AASB 15/1058).

Support external audit queries and provide revenue-related insights to management.

Your Background

To be considered for this opportunity, they are looking for someone with:

Minimum 2 years of experience at the FA level with relevant exposure to revenue recognition.

Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders.

Ideally, CPA/CA or equivalent (or close to qualified).

Understanding of AASB 15 and AASB 105B accounting standards will be highly regarded (Not a must-have).
