We have both part-time for 12 months and casual positions available ranging from half a day per week through to 4 days per week. The Clinical Lecturer position plays a key role in supervising and educating students in clinical practice subjects, supporting the development of skills in evidence-based dentistry. The role involves providing clinical and/or pre-clinical supervision to students across the Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) and the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) programs.
You will support students in developing skills in person-centred evidence-based dentistry across our clinical and pre-clinical sites in the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and/or the Melbourne Oral Health Training and Education Centre (MOHTEC).
Your responsibilities will include:
Support Subject Coordinators and Component Convenors in the successful delivery of teaching to a high standard to students undertaking clinical degree programs.
Develop and contribute to a high standard of education to students undertaking a clinical degree program based on the program curriculum and coursework.
Provide clinical practice leadership and education to coursework students.
Opportunity to contribute to the delivery of continuing professional development (CPD) courses offered by the School.
If applicable, engage in scholarly activity appropriate to the level of your appointment, to support, enable and disseminate teaching practice within the discipline.
If applicable, contribute to and engage with the assessment process and provision of student feedback in line with identified and agreed assessment philosophy.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse students and patients. You are highly motivated, capable of working both independently and collaboratively, and possess a commitment to ongoing professional development and teaching excellence in a clinical setting.
You may also have:
A primary dental qualification registrable with the Dental Board of Australia and current AHPRA registration (no previous or current AHPRA conditions).
A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification clinical experience in dentistry with a demonstrated exposure to a diverse range of dental procedures and patient cases.
Clinical practice skills supported by contemporary evidence-based dental practice.
Evidence of ongoing extra-mural clinical practice and continuing professional development.
Highly motivated to develop skills consistent with teaching excellence.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in a coordinated teaching environment.
