Position Overview:

Products For Industry are seeking an accomplished and business-driven PMO Lead to join our high-performing Project Management team. This pivotal role will oversee the delivery of large-scale engineering and capital projects, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, operational excellence, and client expectations. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership and commercial acumen, guiding the organisation’s project portfolio with rigour, foresight, and innovation The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing engineering or manufacturing projects, with proven experience in either food & beverage, industrial processing, FMCG, renewables, packaging, conveying, or intralogistics.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership of the Project Management Office, driving project governance, delivery excellence, and operational alignment.

Oversee the implementation of frameworks, systems, and reporting mechanisms to ensure consistent, world-class project outcomes.

Support senior management in shaping business priorities, ensuring all projects contribute to commercial and strategic objectives.

Mentor and develop project managers and coordinators, embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Develop standardised business reports for the Project Management team that support the business objectives.

Financial Management

Develop and maintain standing reporting structure for the Project Management team that provides clear requirements for budget preparation, cost tracking, and margin protection.

Monitor and analyse actual vs. forecast performance of each project in the business, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.

Safeguard commercial integrity through rigorous financial governance and accountability.

Ensure Project Management team follow the business requirements for the required invoicing and receipting processes.

Resource Management

Allocate Project works within the Project Team based on technical skillset and customer engagement.

Ensure the transfer from Sales to Project Management team is well co-ordinated and meets specified criteria to ensure the best outcome for our customers.

Forecast future resourcing requirements, ensuring long-term business success.

Risk & Issue Management

Champion proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution.

Maintain an active risk register, ensuring risks are continually monitored, escalated, and closed out.

Develop contingency frameworks to protect business objectives and client commitments.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

Act as the central point of contact for Project Managers and the senior management for all PMO related requirements.

Deliver concise and transparent reporting, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress, risks, and outcomes.

Build and nurture client relationships, reinforcing trust, professionalism, and value delivery.

Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to internal systems, policies, and industry standards.

Drive the development of best-practice processes, embedding quality assurance into all project phases.

Foster a culture of compliance, precision, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to refine processes, optimise systems, and introduce innovations.

Lead lessons-learned programs and incorporate findings into future project frameworks.

Benchmark against industry leaders to ensure the PMO remains at the forefront of best practice.

Essential Experience

Formal qualifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).

3 years demonstrated success leading PMOs or large-scale project portfolios in engineering, construction, or industrial environments.

Proven capability in project governance, reporting, and commercial management.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Advanced knowledge of scheduling tools, financial systems, and project control methodologies.

Strong computer literacy skills across the Microsoft Suite. Experience in Microsoft BI for reporting and visualisation.

Familiarity with Australian Standards, regulatory frameworks, and compliance environments.

Preferred Experience

Background in large capital project delivery within engineering, infrastructure, resources, or manufacturing sectors.

Experience implementing digital tools such as project scheduling software, ERP/CMMS platforms, or business intelligence dashboards.

Strong stakeholder engagement track record with clients, contractors, and executive leaders.
