The Role:

There are a multitude of skilled individuals in our creative, technical, and operational departments and we’re expanding our Software Development team to ensure the effective, robust, and exceptional quality of delivery that our clients have become accustomed to. As part of our growing team of broadcast software developers, you will be part of the “brain” that helps operating sports and live broadcast graphics in the smoothest way. Our software is a multi-paradigm approach to highly dependable and scalable integrations for broadcast graphics operational control.

Our ideal Software Developer will be a highly flexible and independent individual ready to take on any challenge, hungry to learn and grow in the broadcast industry, with a relentless attitude towards working in a high-pressure live production environment and a passion for sports of any kind.

This role is full time, based on-site in our Sydney office. At times you may be required to support a global portfolio requiring flexibility with non-traditional hours and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

What you will do:

Work with motion graphic designers to create live graphics populated with the appropriate data

Create applications for users/graphics operators to trigger and control the graphics during a broadcast

Ensure our code is future proof, clean, efficient, scalable and reliable

Participate in team alignment around the vision behind our software’s growth and the future needs in the industry that it supports

Guide and coach users in the use of new functionalities and options that are constantly being added to our software to make their job easier and more streamlined

Support production and intervene in case code changes are required during live operation. Extreme attention to detail is required to create adaptable changes to the code in pressure moments

Work with our talented graphic artists to find the best approach to creating the application interfaces that are required for each project

Build, change and support scripting that helps live operation of our software through Python integration

Manage, crunch data, and provide data analysis that some of our sports and productions require to support live production and detect losses in fidelity between our software’s data and the production environment

Understand how data is integrated into the application, including knowledge of TCP, serial communication algorithms and HTTP request formats

Show initiative in support of live broadcast, as well as constantly staying ahead of industry skills required to enhance our projects and nurturing junior staff

Who you are:

Demonstrated experience in network and systems programming, and application development

Extensive experience within broadcast software development, 4+ years preferred

Strong proficiency in C# and Python

Expertise in backend technologies

Familiarity with modern front end frameworks

Ability to speak fluent English with strong interpersonal skills, adaptable to high-pressure working conditions

Extra Credit:

Previous experience in a broadcast developer role, or experience within a broadcast environment

A passion for sports and graphics, familiarity with technologies such as Vizrt and Unreal Engine
