We're looking for woodfired pizza chef to feed our lovely customers at our taproom in Bangalow, for an immediate start.

The pizza chef is responsible for preparing pizza dough, cutting and chopping toppings (vegetables and meat) and fulfilling special customer orders. To succeed in this position, you will need to have experience with different types of pizza and be able to work during our opening hours.

You will play a huge part in customer satisfaction by preparing high quality pizzas.

Responsibilities

Prepare pizzas on the menu and according to specific customer orders

Prepare pizza dough

Prepare tomato sauces, pestos, sauces

Wash and cut vegetables (e.g. tomatoes, capsicums, onions and mushrooms,...)

Cut and slice meats

Monitor stock levels and help place orders as needed

Use innovative ingredients to appeal to a wider audience (e.g. vegan cheese and gluten-free flour)

Create new recipes to update our menus

Keep a clean workstation and sterilise equipment

Experience

Professional experience as a pizza chef or similar position in a restaurant

Practical experience in preparing and stretching and cooking pizza dough

Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and gas pizza ovens

Knowledge of food hygiene

Strong time management skills

Team spirit

Flexibility for shift work, especially evenings and weekends

A diploma from a cooking school would be a plus
