About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing team at McGuinness Building Pty Ltd as a Carpenter. Based in Port Macquarie, NSW, this full-time role will see you play a key part in the construction and fit-out of high-quality residential properties.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with the construction and installation of wooden structures, fixtures and fittings

Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches and specifications to ensure accurate construction

Selecting, measuring and cutting wood materials to required sizes and shapes

Assembling and installing wooden structures such as walls, floors, roofs, door and window frames

Fitting and fixing cabinetry, joinery and trim to high standards

Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient work

Collaborating with the wider construction team to deliver projects on time and to specification

What we're looking for

Formal qualification in carpentry, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry

Experience in residential construction

Strong working knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety standards

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and technical specifications

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

A current driver's licence and reliable transport
