Hays has partnered with a locally owned and operated construction company based on the Sunshine Coast. With a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across Queensland and beyond, this business is entering a new phase of strategic growth and is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support its expanding operations.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the business, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  
• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  
• Project cost tracking and financial modelling for marine infrastructure projects
  
• Cash flow management and reporting
  
• Compliance with tax and regulatory obligations
  
• Liaising with external auditors and financial institutions
  
• Supporting strategic decision-making with financial insights
  

What you'll need to succeed

• CA/CPA qualified (or working towards)
  
• Proven experience in a corporate accounting role, ideally within the construction, civil or infrastructure sectors
  
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation
  
• High attention to detail and analytical thinking
  
• Exposure to an ERP system
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
