Hold a relevant Counselling Qualification.
The possession of a current unrestricted “C“ class Driver’s Licence is essential.
Gain and maintain a “Working with Children Check” from the Queensland Government Blue Card Services and undergo a police check.

About the Tully Support Centre Inc
The Tully Support Centre Inc. (TSC) located in Tully, Queensland in the heart of the Cassowary Coast. The TSC is an incorporated, non-sectarian, non-political, non-discriminatory community-based organisation, managed by a voluntary Management Committee, elected from the community.

The CCDFV adult counsellor will provide a flexible and targeted response to meet the increasing demand for DFV services across a vulnerable and socioeconomically diverse community throughout the Cassowary Coast and north to Babinda.
The TSC CCDFV service will work with families and other service providers to ensure children affected by DFV have access to adequate services including development specialists, educational tutors and other appropriate services as identified.
Salary and Conditions
These positions are permanent part-time; Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Industry Award 2010 as a Social & Community Services (SACS) Employee FWO Equal Renumeration Order (1st July 2025 update), Level 5.1, currently $51.00/hr for the continuation of the relevant funding.
These hours will be allocated as per your staff roster and delivered in consultation with the TSC CEO and Team Leader.
Salary sacrificing benefits are available. All other payment and conditions are specified in the Employment Contract.

Duties
Provide support, information, advocacy and referrals for women and their children affected by DFV.
Provide structured therapeutic counselling and support, utilising a variety of approaches based on the needs of the client, for women and their children affected by DFV. This support must be age appropriate and delivered through a case management approach on an individual and/or group basis.
Provide a mix of face-to-face, outreach and phone-based delivery ensuring service availability throughout the Cassowary Coast Region and Babinda.
Receive referrals, assess clients for intake into the CCDFV service, undertake an assessment of risks and needs to determine appropriate form of intervention.
Improve the resilience and the capacity of the individual in the long-term, beyond the reliance on funded services to identify and develop a network of social supports as a part of the creation of their individual safety plan.

Adult DFV Counsellor
Selection Criteria
a) A relevant qualification in Counselling is required.

b) Providing Counselling and Case Management for women and children affected by DFV
Outline your knowledge and professional experience providing counselling and case management services for women and children affected by DFV.
c) Keeping women and their children affected by DFV safe
Outline your knowledge and professional experience keeping women and their children affected by DFV safe, including, providing court support, DVO applications, undertaking risk assessments and developing safety plans.
d) Community Development Activities
Outline your knowledge and professional experience delivering groups, undertaking community engagement and development activities. Including developing and participating in local and regional support networks.
e) Highly developed communication skills
Outline your skills and ability to communicate and work with young people, community groups, individuals, and families from a broad range of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
f) Accountability and Reporting
Outline your experience meeting accountability, statistical and program reporting requirements.
g) Managing a case load and competing demands
Outline your ability to work independently and autonomously – to plan, prioritise and evaluate work outcomes, meet deadlines, maintain records, and prepare reports as appropriate.
Child & Youth DFV Counsellor
