About the Role
You will lead a team that aims to ensure the best outcomes for participants who have incurred severe injuries in motor vehicle accidents in NSW and are eligible for the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme. The team has a range of roles with direct relationships with participants of the Scheme and their service providers across case management, coordination of services and decision-making on requests for services.
The team roles involve establishing, coordinating and monitoring community-based treatment, rehabilitation and care supports with a focus on maximizing the participants’ independence, community engagement and community-based rehabilitation programs.
The Team Leader will build and maintain a positive and cohesive team culture and support staff development to ensure the delivery of quality responses and establishment of crucial stakeholder relationships to support optimal outcomes for participants.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Team Leader you will:
- Lead a team to ensure person centred, timely, high quality and cost-effective services are provided to meet participant’s needs and scheme objectives.
- Actively support individuals’ performance and skill development, encouraging a growth mindset.
- Guide the team to achieve outcomes aligned to the organisational KPI’s that monitor and measure key areas of the role.
- Manage the team resources including leave, recruitment and on-boarding, 1:1 coaching and feedback, HR matters and build positive team environment
- Work collaboratively as a member of the regional leadership team to ensure a consistent delivery of service and driving organisational change in alignment with regional initiatives.
- Foster a team culture to drive high performance and support the integration of roles within the team to ensure collaborative, person-centred relationship building with injured people, their families and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to service improvement strategies and a fostering a learning culture by actively collaborating with relevant parts of the organisation in the design and implementation of new initiatives
- Demonstrate, support and facilitate critical reasoning and thinking across a range of complex and/or time sensitive decision-making environments involving participants, internal and external stakeholders in collaboration with internal specialist services and utilisation of resources.
- Manage and resolve frontline complaints or contribute to the resolution of escalated complaints and issues raised by stakeholders.
- Engage in leadership and professional development opportunities to ensure currency of skills and knowledge regarding current evidence and best practice.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health or disability discipline
- Experience in leading a team and coordinating multiple stakeholders dealing with people and families experiencing serious injuries or disability including Traumatic Brain Injury or Spinal Cord Injury
- Critical reasoning skills to ensure a high degree of integrity in the decision-making processes.
- Ability to set clear expectations and engage in difficult conversations in a simple and empathetic manner.
- A current driver’s licence, with the ability to travel.
- Up to date with current Public Health Order requirements
- Current WWCC
