About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced General Manager – Residential OOHC to lead and strengthen service delivery across multiple residential programs.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure programs meet the highest standards of care, compliance and governance. This role will drive service excellence, lead multidisciplinary teams, and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including government partners, peak bodies and community agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and direction to service managers and teams across multiple residential care programs.
- Oversee operational performance, financial management, and quality outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accreditation, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and embed a culture of accountability and best practice.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, funding bodies and community partners.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, policy development and service growth.
- Prepare tenders, funding proposals and performance reports within agreed timelines.
About You You are an accomplished human services leader with a deep understanding of child protection and OOHC frameworks. You combine strategic insight with operational strength and have the ability to inspire teams to deliver quality outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years’ senior management experience within the Human Services sector.
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Strong knowledge of Reportable Conduct and safeguarding requirements within the NSW child protection context.
- Proven leadership and management experience, including oversight of staff, budgets and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex workloads, prioritise competing demands, and deliver results.
- High-level interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
- NSW Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening (or ability to obtain).
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
- Experience in tender writing, submissions and program development.
- Advanced computer and administrative skills.
