Your Impact:

As a valued member of their legal team, your responsibilities will include:

Representing clients in a range of criminal proceedings, such as plea hearings, contest mentions, court appearance and bail applications.

You may also handle Magistrate Court hearings and appeals.

Preparing comprehensive indictable briefs for both County and Supreme Court matters.

Instructing at trials and undertaking appearances in superior courts, as appropriate for your level of expertise.

Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis to develop robust and effective case strategies.

Collaborating closely with internal colleagues and external partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Prepare legal correspondence, court documents, and briefs to counsel with precision and care.

Co-ordinate appointments and manage your diary for both clients and court matters, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling prepped by admin team

Engage with clients in an empathetic, strategic and professional manner, providing top-tier support throughout their legal journey

What You'll Bring:

A recognised Law degree.

Admission to practice as a lawyer in NSW

2+ year Experience in criminal law as a lawyer is advantageous; we encourage passionate graduates with a strong interest in this sector to apply if they have worked in legal aid or similar

Demonstrated strong criminal litigation skills, including experience in courtroom settings.

A thorough understanding of criminal law, procedure, and the broader criminal justice system.

Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

The capacity to thrive under pressure and effectively manage tight deadlines.

A steadfast commitment to ethical conduct and the fundamental principles of justice.

Comfortable working with digital tools, from Microsoft 365 to legal-specific systems.

Highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
