About the role

Swanwick Murray Roche is seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our thriving team in Rockhampton, QLD. As a Senior Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal advice and support across a range of commercial, property, and succession law matters. This is a full-time position offering excellent career development opportunities within a dynamic and growing legal practice.

What you'll be doing

Providing strategic and high-quality legal services to our diverse client base

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and legal documents

Advising on property law matters, including conveyancing, leasing, and development

Assisting clients with succession planning, estate administration, and estate disputes

Collaborating with the wider legal team to ensure the delivery of exceptional client service

Mentoring and developing more junior members of the team

Staying up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and industry regulations

What we're looking for

A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree, and admission as a solicitor in Queensland with a practising certificate (or the ability to obtain one)

2+ years of post-admission experience in commercial, property, and/or succession law (or a related field)

Proven track record of providing high-quality, commercially-focused legal advice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

A proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail

Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to contribute to the growth of the firm
