We are seeking an experienced Principal Business Analyst - Data Quality & Governance to lead business analysis activities on large-scale data governance initiatives within a major telecommunications program. This role will be responsible for capturing, managing, and validating business requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with organisational goals, compliance standards, and data quality principles.
This is a 6 month contract paying $421 per day plus super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior technical business analyst for data quality and governance projects.
- Elicit, document, and manage end-to-end business requirements through workshops, user stories, use cases, and requirement specifications.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain data integration and quality workflows (using tools such as Ataccama).
- Drive initiatives in data governance, profiling, cleansing, and compliance.
- Conduct testing of requirements with end users to validate accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, optimise processes, and enable reliable end-to-end business operations.
Skills & Experience:
- 5-10 years' experience in business analysis within large IT transformation or data programs.
- Proven expertise in data quality, governance, and integration initiatives.
- Strong track record of leading requirement workshops and capturing detailed business requirements.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in engaging both technical and business teams.
- Hands-on experience with data governance/quality tools (e.g. Ataccama) highly regarded.
Nice to Have
- Experience in data governance frameworks and quality management practices.
- Exposure to large-scale e-governance or telecommunications projects.
