A State Government is seeking a Structural Engineer supporting the assessment of Heavy Vehicle Applications.

Your new organisation
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on improving heavy vehicle access across Victoria's transport infrastructure. This role involves applying structural engineering expertise and independent judgment to assess applications for heavy vehicle movements, ensuring safety and efficiency across the network.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support junior team members in technical assessments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about infrastructure, safety, and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

• Communicate with key stakeholders to gather required information, inform and update activities in a consultative manner.
• Demonstrate competence in understanding of structural load assessments to support a range of tasks related to the analysis and assessment of bridges and other road-related structures under supervision.
• Structural Assessment: Conduct structural load assessments of bridges and road-related structures to determine safe usage and recommend any necessary restrictions or monitoring conditions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects, as required, that would result in efficiencies in relation to Class 1,2,3 and other heavy vehicle assessment practices.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed
Applied knowledge in structural engineering, particularly in assessing heavy vehicle access and determining asset performance using various methods.

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (mandatory)
• Relevant workplace experience in structural engineering.
