About the role

Bentleys Barristers & Solicitors are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Family Law Solicitor to join our growing team in our Melbourne office. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in the area of family law within a supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with the preparation and management of family law matters, including divorce proceedings, property settlements, and child custody arrangements

Conducting client interviews and gathering relevant information to build strong case files

Conducting legal research and preparing draft documents such as affidavits, submissions, and correspondence

Attending court hearings and client meetings to provide support and representation

Collaborating with senior solicitors and barristers to deliver high-quality legal services

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case notes and records

What we're looking for

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission as a solicitor in Victoria

2-3 years of experience in family law, or a strong interest and commitment to developing a career in this area

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and build rapport with clients

Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required
