Marketing and Communications Officer
Rehoboth Christian College
Posted 7 days ago
An exciting opportunity has become available for an engaging and friendly Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Business Office team on a full-time 12-month, maternity leave role.
Are you a people person who will enjoy getting involved with the school community and shaping our College story? Do you dream of better ways of doing things, with a heart for Christ-centred communication, community building, and a willingness to learn? Then this is the role for you!
About Rehoboth
As the first Christian parent-governed school in Western Australia, we are pioneers of distinctly Christian education. Our rich heritage stretches back almost sixty years; we have learned a fair bit in that time and are always seeking ways to improve and innovate.
Rehoboth exists to partner with families in their God-given task of nurturing and educating their children. You will be joining a team who whole-heartedly believes in our mission to lead students to think and live for the glory of God in every aspect of their lives.
About the Position
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer with a flair for the art of storytelling—expressed through words, photography, and graphic design. This role is responsible for planning, developing, and executing marketing and promotional activities, and preparing and delivering communications to key stakeholders across the College.
You will work Monday to Fridays from 8:00am to 4:00pm at the Business Office located at the Kenwick campus. Some flexibility with hours is necessary as you will be required to attend selected after hours events and activities.
What You Need to Succeed
Apart from the necessary qualifications, we look for people who are a great cultural fit. Rehoboth is a community of Christians – both parents and staff; we work to support each other in our spiritual walk and encourage students to explore their faith and discover their God-given gifts.
Owing to the deeply Christian nature of the College, we consider all staff to be role models to students, regardless of the type of work we do. We take your active involvement in a local Protestant Christian church, a deeply committed Christian lifestyle, and ability to articulate your personal Christian faith as evidence of your desire to join us as we build a vibrant Christian community.
You will also need to have exceptional administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills and have an outstanding ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and contractors.
Here are the essential criteria for the position:
Hold or be working towards appropriate qualifications and/or experience in any of the following: media, graphic design, marketing, or communications (Cert IV or higher).
Have a warm and friendly nature, are a ‘people person,’ and have an ability to provide positive and friendly customer service
Demonstrate an ability to think inventively and apply creative skills to problem solving.
Possess strong communication skills, with particular emphasis on writing for a wide range of situations and audiences.
Be detailed oriented, organised, and disciplined - a self-starter who can work alone but also able to take direction from different leaders across the College.
Capable of working in different teams across the College community, by building relationships with colleagues and enhancing the good name of the College.
Demonstrate strong computer literacy skills, particularly with the Microsoft Suite, and an affinity for technology, including photography and graphic design tools. Experience with WordPress, the Schoolbox Learning Management System, and/or Adobe Creative Cloud is desirable, but not essential.
Be actively involved in a local Protestant Christian church and be able to demonstrate an exemplary Christian lifestyle
