About Us:

Mr Crown is a hospitality venue located in the heart of Wollongong’s CBD. With a Sports Bar, a welcoming General Bar, and a soon-to-be-launched world-class nightlife space, we’re raising the bar for entertainment and hospitality in the Illawarra. We're looking for an experienced and passionate Venue Manager to lead our team and take the venue to the next level.

The Role:

As Venue Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations across all areas of Mr Crown, including:

The Sports Bar

The General Bar

Our upcoming Nightlife and Events space

You’ll be leading a strong and motivated team, fostering a positive, professional, and fun team culture. You'll also be heavily involved in curating world-class beverage offerings, hiring staff, managing events, and ensuring our venue continues to be a top choice for locals and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all venue operations including bar, events, and entertainment

Hire, train, and manage bar and floor staff

Create and manage weekly rosters

Manage security requirements and coordinate with security personnel

Develop and maintain seasonal cocktail menus, including classic and trending beverages

Curate wine, spirit, and beer lists with a focus on innovation and quality

Liaise with suppliers and beverage brands to offer new and exciting products

Coordinate and book live entertainment and DJs

Manage and book private functions and corporate events

Ensure compliance with licensing, RSA, and all relevant regulations

Work a flexible schedule including split shifts, weekdays, and weekends

About You:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Venue Manager or similar senior hospitality role

Proven experience leading high-performing teams and building strong team culture

Strong knowledge of current beverage trends, cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Hands-on leadership style and customer-first mindset

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Experience in booking entertainment and managing events highly regarded
