Flinders Early Learning Centre is located in a rainforest setting alongside our Matthew Flinders Anglican College Prep to Year 12 campus. The centre supports 120 families with children from three-to six-years of age through a Reggio Emilia approach and creative Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. The Centre implements the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines curriculum frameworks and operates Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm, 48 weeks of the year, including school holidays. Our Flinders Early Learning Centre (FELC) has recently received a glowing quality assessment and ratings process, exceeding expectations in all seven quality areas of the National Quality Standards. The result is reflective of the exceptional team, dedicated and inspirational leadership, and a shared desire for genuine connection and positive outcomes for children, families and the wider community.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent part-time role, Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM (5.5 hours per day). You’ll be responsible for:
Leading our afternoon program and daily close-down of the centre.
Guiding and supporting a team of educators.
Building strong, positive relationships with families and children.
Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
Communicating effectively with parents and staff.
ABOUT YOU
As a Lead Educator, you will nurture and guide children through the afternoon program, creating a calm, welcoming environment where curiosity, creativity, and exploration are encouraged. You will plan and implement engaging learning experiences, set up thoughtful provocations to spark children’s thinking, and support their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Building warm, trusting relationships with children, families, and your team is at the heart of this role. You will also maintain documentation, communicate with families, and ensure the program aligns with centre policies and regulations. Your passion for early childhood education, strong leadership, and knowledge of the curriculum will help create an afternoon experience that is both meaningful and joyful for every child.
The successful candidate will have:
A recognised Certificate III or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care
Positive Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card)
First Aid and CPR Certificate
Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Framework
Able to lead by example and effectively mentor other team members.
Can plan and implement educational programs while managing daily tasks.
Able to communicate effectively with team members, children, and families.
Can adapt to changes in routines or situations and keep
