Registered Nurse – ICU | Rural QLD Contract | November Start

Mars Recruitment is seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses (Grade 5) for short-term contracts in a busy regional health facility in Central Queensland. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic ICU setting while enjoying the lifestyle and community of rural Australia.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a skilled ICU team providing high-level care in a regional hospital. The facility uses advanced systems and offers exposure to a wide range of critical care presentations.

Contracts Available:

1 x 03 Nov – 04 Jan

1 x 10 Nov – 04 Jan

2 x 24 Nov – 04 Jan
Applicants must be available for the full contract duration

Shifts: Rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts (as per roster)

Hours: Max. 80 hours per fortnight (overtime applies beyond this)

Breaks: Minimum 8-hour break between shifts

Accommodation & Travel: Provided or reimbursed (details on application)

Mandatory Requirements

Minimum 3 years ICU experience

Current BLS and ALS certification

Competency in:

Manual and patient handling

Infection control

Aggressive behaviour management

Mandatory reporting (child protection)

Medication management (including QPHS regulations)

Desirable Skills

Experience with ieMR and MetaVision

Familiarity with QLD Health systems

Previous work within QLD Health or Mackay HHS

Additional Information

Candidates must be willing to undertake:

Online induction and mandatory training

ieMR training (if not already certified)

Any other training as required by the health service
