The Opportunity
Councils Facility Maintenance team is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled & motivated person to join their team. This is a full-time position operating out of the Civic Centre, ideally located in High Street, Melton. Reporting directly to the Program Leader, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the Facility Maintenance team. Blending your experience in Maintenance Planning with the oversight of onsite maintenance tasks, you will ensure the smooth operation and continued and improved service of Councils facilities for its many stakeholders.
Please note that working from home is not available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine required actions and act, or commission appropriate service response from contractors and/or in-house services team in response to Service Desk escalations, programmed functionality inspections, on-site triage tasks and direct in-person requests from Facility managers, Occupiers and Users.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan, encompassing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance approaches.
- Develop detailed maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and coordinate activities with maintenance teams, contractors, and external vendors to minimise disruption.
- Partnering with contractors, track and monitor the progress of work orders, ensuring all maintenance tasks are updated and completed in a timely and efficient manner and within budget.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of internal operational practices that comply with OHS, risk management, asset management and industry best practices.
- Participate in the after-hours rotating roster for the provision of high-level support to Council's After Hours Duty Officer.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification with some relevant experience in Building construction, Maintenance, Facility Management or allied Engineering or other specialist discipline; or Lessor qualification/s with substantial relevant experience in Building construction, Maintenance, Facility Management or other specialist discipline.
- HVAC experience with some project management experience would be highly desirable.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined team to achieve set objectives, specifically in the fields of facility management, maintenance investigation and planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Hold a current Victorian driver’s licence.
