The Opportunity
The successful applicant will lead and support the provision of high-quality early years services, including overseeing the delivery and day to day operations of Family Day Care and Vacation Care programs in accordance with Council policies and procedures and Government standards and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and leadership to the Early Years team, including the facilitation and provision of regular staff supervision and team meetings, and support the Early Childhood Coordinator in operational and reporting requirements.
- Monitor the implementation of all relevant standards and legislation including the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law Act, Children’s Services Regulations, Early Years Frameworks and relevant Council policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain partnerships and engagement with the community, internal service units, Government, peak bodies, and key stakeholders; and actively represent Council at relevant network meetings.
- Lead and support the delivery of Early Years projects and events to optimise the learning and development outcomes for children and facilitate opportunities for continuous improvement in the delivery of Early Years Services.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Early Years Team out of hours requirements including provision of after-hours phone support to Family Day Care Educators.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A tertiary qualification in Education and Care as required under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, or equivalent with substantial experience or a lesser qualification with extensive experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the planning, operation, and delivery of Early Years Services with a particular focus on Family Day Care and Vacation Care.
- Through knowledge and understanding of all legislation, policies, and standards related to the provision of Early Childhood Services and experience in the administration of Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy) to ensure all legal requirements are met.
- Hold a current Victorian driver’s licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
